Where in the world is Aaron?

I just returned home at 2:30 am this morning from Mexico on a week long adventure for Coues Whitetail. What an experience to hunt these small but elusive little animals. I unfortunately, returned home to a family on the brink of physical breakdown. Garrett had RSV, a double ear infection, and Pink eyes, yes in both. Sarah has Tonselitis and I also developed a sinus infection while traveling late to get home to them. I was originally planned to fly to Ontario where they would have picked me up but our christmas plans have changed.

I really don't have time to get sick so I will be making sure we get the family well. Love everyone and Merry Christmas.

Santa...The Sequel

Garrett and I went to our Ward Christmas Party tonight. Garrett was so tired by the time Santa came, that he was practically running out of his arms...he he he. I think Garrett has had enough Santa photo opts, so I won't torture him anymore! Soon I will be heading to Riverside for Christmas, and I'm really looking forward on getting some extra help with Garrett and visiting family and friends.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

On Saturday night the family went to my work Christmas party. Garrett was able to see Santa Claus and get a picture, after several attempts. He was intrigued by Santa's beard. Santa even brought Garrett a Bob the Builder tool set. Now Garrett can "work"out in the garage with daddy.

We are getting ready for the holidays since Aaron leaves for Mexico on Wednesday mornin'...another business trip. He will fly into Southern Cali and meet there for Christmas, then we head up to Tehachapi to see the Smith bunch, oh, and Aaron's sister Mandi and her family will be there too! Whoo hoo. We are so excited to see them. Aaron and I have realized this year that family is the most sacred, prized possesion in our lives. We are so greatful for them and thankful for all they do. Family is always there for us. We are also, thankful for our friends for they are our family away from home. This Christmas hoiday were have graditude for our blessings, your home, family, Garrett, and most of all the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Since it was stormy, we laid low all weekend. We are going to wrap presents tonight and watch Frosty the Snowman.
We hope you and your family will be full by the spirit of Christ this holiday. Merry Christmas.

Oh Christmas Tree...

Garrett is really amazed by the Christmas tree, he already has taken down all the decorations within his reach. I need a plan B.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree"

Aaron and I are FINALLY in the same house together, again. He doesn't leave for a week, so we actually had a chance trim the tree. A friend of mine, Tina, dropped off the most beautiful 7 foot tree to our home this afternoon. She apparently had bought a bunch through a fundraiser and had them sitting at her house, and we got so lucky!
It's always fun to reminisce while hanging memories of the past; babies first Christmas, just married, etc. It will be interesting to see how Garrett reacts to the tree when he wakes up in the morning!

Where in the world is Aaron?

I am actually posting this in the LAX Airport waiting for my flight to SLO. I have spent the last 4 days in Texas on a Whitetail Hunt outside of San Antonio. I visited this place last year and absolutely loved it. It's called La Fonda Ranch and we had some great success. The accommodations are 5 star and lets just say that I could play Santa Claus as much food as I ate. It was a great trip but I am really looking forward to being with my family for a week before I head to Mexico. Hears a few pictures of my trip. The first picture is of my room. Pretty nice HUH! This is what I call roughing it. If you don't like dead stuff don't look.

Garrett Gets a Hair Cut

My friend Jenn Kirk inspired me to cut Garrett's wild Einstein hair, since she cut her babies hair this week too. Garrett looks like such a big boy!

Snow Days

Tonight Garrett and I went to Snow Days in the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero. I had no idea that it was such the community event. There were snow machines, snow rides, Santa, petting zoo, vendors, you name it. There were probably 10,000 people there! Needless to say that I was not about to stand in a line to see "Santa" that was 100 people deep, with a one-year-old in 50 degree weather, at 8:00 at night. So instead we just wandered around checking out the scene. Garrett got a chance to get a picture with a Christmas dog, as you can tell from the pic he was more interested in the animals nose.
After the Snow Days experience I treated Garrett to In and Out for a vanilla milkshake (his favorite) and he "accidentally" dumped the entire shake on to his lap. It was so funny I had to take a picture. Garrett was even laughing, and sticking his hands in the milkshake and was licking it off his fingers. There is never a dull moment. I do cherish every day I have with my little man, he is such a blessing in my life. I know that while daddy is in Texas, he sure is missing his little shadow.

Happy holidays!

Update on Mystery Paint

FYI the mystery paint is gone...Mandi's theory could be right on since the rain could have washed the seagull droppings away...seagulls in Atascadero? I've heard crazier.

Go Nuts!

Mommy gave my first peanut butter and jelly sandwich today. I ate it all gone, it was really yummy!

Christmas Chaos

This afternoon we met our new friends, Jenn and her son Tanner, who is also our neighbor, at Walmart to do a little shopping. We always have a great time together. She is the cutest thing ever! We both enjoy decorating our homes and doing crafts, so we get along well. It's pretty challenging to shop with Garrett, and he only wants to be inside the shopping cart, so I had to take a pic of what it's like to shop with Garrett...so fun!

Due to an overhelming request for additional house pics...I've attached our bedroom, part of the living room and the office.

EARTHQUAKE!!

We had an 4.1 earthquake tonight. My first reaction was to yell out loud while running down the hall "get the baby!". What great mothery instints!

Mystery Paint

Aaron got home from work tonight and discovered some mystery paint in the driveway...it is so weird why would random paint appear in the middle of the driveway...we can't figure it out...any ideas?
We would like to hear your input:)

The new Polo model

Watch out ladies here comes Mr. G in his new outfit from Grandma! Thanks Grandma!

"Christmas Time is Here..."

In true smith tradition, I have the house decorated with Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas time and we are really looking forward to spending time with family. We also went to a Christmas party last night at Ben and Alissa Brite's house. It was an ugly sweater and white elephant party. It was a great time and kind of a singles ward reunion as you will see in the pictures.
Christmas is off to a great start and we are really are looking forward to this special time of year!

Where in the World is Aaron?

I just recently returned from Missouri where I was hunting Whitetail deer for the last week. I still has two trips left, until hunting is over for the year. Sarah will be very happy when I'm able to stay home and not travel so much, but I truly loves my job and that is rare in this world. It was very cold and and wasn't that great of hunting but its what I love and any week hunting is better then a day in the office. Anyway, heading to Texas on Friday December 1st. Giant whitetails in the great state of Texas. I will have some pictures of the Texas trip when I return.

Turkey Day

We had a great time hosting Thanksgiving at our house, we had Aaron's family from Tehachapi here. We cooked our first turkey, I got the recipe from Martha Stewart...it was three pages long, but it turned out really tender. Check out Garrett in his Christmas sweater, he is such a big boy. We even snuck in a family picture in the backyard. We had a memorable day.

Halloween

For Halloween the family went to Trunk-or-Treat at the church. I got Garrett's dino costume at Target, I just love Target. He collected lots of sweet treats for mommy and daddy. As you can tell by all the chocolate on his face, he enjoyed the treats too!

Pumpkin Patch

A couple weeks ago Garrett's mommy and me class went on a field trip to the pumkin patch. Garrett had a great time at the petting zoo, he got to feed his first goat! He is so much fun!

New House

Here is some pics of the new house. We have been working hard to make it our own. Come and visit so you can see the real thing!

Koda the Devil Dog

We are preparing the house for Thanksgiving, since we are having here at the new house, but there are several distractions. Since last week the following "distractions" have occured...the cute puppy ate the drip line in the backyard, broke the fence to play with the neighbors dogs, pooped in the house...or was that the cat?, ate Garrett's pants, and broke two more of the landscape lights.

Need I say more? Please don;t be fooled by his irrestible ways.
