Lily's Blessing and Vine Street

Well this past weekend was anything but laid back. Starting Friday with Garrett, mommy and me with Santa until Sunday at church, the Smith Family was on the move constantly. It was very enjoyable and memorable at the same time.

This year in an effort to start our own traditions we held the first annual "Smith Christmas Tree Party". Just a fun social evening with kids running everywhere and adults just ignoring them so that we could enjoy a much needed mature conversation. We had a great time, I think next year though we will have someone play Santa so that the children can enjoy that. Should be fun!

My sisters both rolled into town later that night which they are always fun to have around. We always enjoy having family come and this was no exception.

Saturday morning I had to teach 4H in SLO, while Mom, Dad, Papa and Grandma came into town too. We enjoyed a pretty leisurely day with a big turkey dinner prepared that afternoon, which was prepared by my most amazing and talented wife! Man that girl can cook! Everything was delicious. Oh, BTW dad the rain gutter isn't leaking anymore, YES we did it!

Well your probably wondering why everyone including Papa and Grandma are over being that Christmas is right around the corner and we are going to Tehachapi for the holiday. Well for the past couple of years, family has come over for the Paso Robles Vine Street event. Downtown Paso Robles, puts on a Christmas event with a parade, caroling and beautifully decorated Victorian houses on Vine Street. One house even has an old man pretending to be Scrooge and everyone loves to go pester him. Its probably one of the biggest highlights of the event.

Anyway, it has been particularly cold in Paso so the fam was extra prepared this year. Shelli brought hand and feet warmers which turned out to be a very comical situation, being that when I say cold, its like 45 degrees.

Then to top it all off, our "Squeeker," Lily was blessed on Sunday. Uncle Chris and Uncle Robert, Papa 2, Trevor Ashby and TJ Collett stood in on the blessing. It was a great finale to a wonderful weekend. Just think we still have Christmas! I love this time of year. Hopefully for all those who got to participate this weekend with us or for anybody, Christmas helps us refocus on the most important things in life. Our Savior Jesus Christ and Family.

LOVE YOU ALL AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We had a great time hanging out with you over the weekend. It was so much fun sitting around Sunday evening relaxing and catching up. It felt like the good 'ole days. And Alina always loves spending time with Garrett.
